July: Bold

"Even when it’s not pretty or perfect. Even when it’s more real than you want it to be. Your story is what you have, what you will always have. It is something to own" (p. xi) - Michelle Obama, Becoming

Boldness can come in the form of color or character. It can be making bold choices for your children or even just wearing that one shoe that you didn't you could pull off. It could mean standing up for something that you believe in—regardless of the consequences. And when it comes to telling your own story? Simply speaking up about it is bold.

Can you think of a time that you were “bold” in your motherhood? In your faith? In setting boundaries? Perhaps your boldness invigorated you or caused some conflict. Perhaps your boldness surprised you, caught you off guard, left you feeling ashamed. Perhaps it led to a new season of life: one where you apologize less, feel more like yourself.

And maybe you haven’t been bold when you wish you were: you can certainly write about that, too.
