January: Six-Minute Memoir

Our January book is Six-Minute Memoir: Fifty-Five Short Essays on Life by Mary Helen Stefaniak. Join the conversation led by Exhale’s content manager Neidy Hess. Even if you haven’t read the book, we’d love for you to join the conversation!

About Neidy

Neidy (naydee) is writer, content manager, mama, and fire wife. She has 3 niños that she apologizes to frequently (but loves them immensely)! Her husband is also a veteran from the Marine Corps—she’s had the privilege to walk through two overseas deployments with him. She and her family are also a part of a bilingual church that has a big heart for diversity. Telling stories is her M.O. and she’ll never tire of their magic.

WHY ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT THIS BOOK?

From the moment I heard about it from my friend Liz, I knew I had to read it—mostly because they’re a collection of stories about her childhood written by her mom! But what really stuck out to me was that I was delighted to see what motherhood would look like as I got older. Also, who can say no to six-minute vignettes?
