August: Rest - A Photo Essay

This August is the third year that Coffee + Crumbs has taken an official sabbatical. And with the extra — EXTRA — weight that 2020 has brought us all, Ashlee made the decision to extend the sabbatical to cover July, too.

But in our own lives, we ask: what does rest look like? Is it merely the absence of work? Or something more? As we set aside hurry, social media, and expectations, what do we choose to fill the days with instead?

This month, we’ll be doing a photo essay, taking the concept of “rest” and making it visual, asking ourselves what it actually looks like in our everyday. Is it a day at the pool? Making messes in the kitchen? Quieting the living room of clutter so there’s less to pick up at the end of the day? Chain-reading dystopian YA novels (me!)?

What does rest look like to you and your family in this strange and wonder-full time?
