Behind the Book No. 2
In Episode 63, Coffee+Crumbs writer, Sarah Hauser, pulls back the curtain on the publishing process of her new book, All Who Are Weary, which comes out in April.
For those who are new to the writing life, or for any of us pursuing our creative passions, it’s tempting to see someone in the creative world with a finished product, like a book, and believe it just happened, as if by magic. Other times, we can understand it took work, but we don’t really grasp to what extent. Sarah’s first book All Who Are Weary: Finding True Rest By Letting Go of the Burdens You Were Never Meant to Carry will be released in April 2023.
I’ve learned my lesson to not force [the process of writing and publishing a book]. God just sort of opened the doors and helped me see how different pieces of my life came together in a way that I definitely could not see at the time. – Sarah Hauser

“You must once and for all give up being worried about successes and failures. Don’t let that concern you. It’s your duty to go on working steadily day by day, quite quietly, to be prepared for mistakes, which are inevitable, and for failures.” —Chekov
“For the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs.” —George Eliot, nineteenth-century English novelist
