Behind the Essay No. 4
In Episode 75, we’re back with another installment of Behind the Essay, and this time, we have invited Exhale member, Krista Drechsel to talk with us about her recent essay, Old-Growth Forest. As always, we hope this conversation with be a helpful peek behind the scenes of the writing process.
The Coffee and Crumbs team receives many essays each submission window, and we never cease to feel what an honor it is to hold women’s stories. It’s an honor to be let into the writer’s life and we don’t take the responsibility lightly. In this episode, we’ll share a bit about this experience of finding the perfect stories to share in our quarterly publications of Coffee+Crumbs, and our experience helping to shape those stories to become essays our readers remember.
Bio: Krista Drechsel is a wife, mother, and writer living in Minneapolis, Minnesota with her husband Joe and her two daughters Haddie and Isla. She writes both poetry and creative nonfiction. When she’s not reading or writing, she’s usually teaching or spending time outside.
